Detached Youth Work in Dunstable

Working in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council the YMCA provides detached work for young people.

Youth workers make contact with young people and support them in meeting their needs. Often free from the constraints of indoor youth activities, the workers develop relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

The YMCA team has worked with young people on music events, sports activities and on trips away. The flexibility of the approach makes it ideal to develop support and learning opportunities for those who might otherwise miss out.

Voluntary Youth Work in Northamptonshire

Funded by Northamptonshire County Council the YMCA provides a support service to voluntary youth clubs and youth organisations across Northamptonshire.

Support includes training, conferences, advice on fund raising and on all aspects of youth work practice. Support is also provided to the local Council for Voluntary Youth Work (NCVYS) http://www.ncvys.org.uk/ who represents voluntary youth work in the county.

The service will be delivered in partnership with Northamptonshire YMCA until October 2011.
