FLATS – YMCA RESIDENTIAL LONG TERM ACCOMMODATION
The YMCA has long term independent and supported housing for single people between 18 – 30 years. If you are not within this age range please contact Council Housing or Shelter.org.uk for further assistance.
We encourage applications from young people in part time education, training or employment, although we do offer limited supported tenancies.
We have 123 flats in Central Milton Keynes consisting of:
- 52 x Studio Flats
- 16 x Studio Flats with shared bathroom facilities
- 33 x One bedroom Flat - including one with disabled facilities
- 1 x Two bedroom Flat
All flats have french doors leading to a balcony or garden area.
You must be between 18-30 yrs old to qualify and most of our flats are for single occupancy although there are some large enough for couples. We are unable to accommodate families or children.
Our aim is to ensure that all residents sustain their tenancy and develop the skills required to lead successful, happy lives, with the encouragement from our trained Housing Support Officers.

What documents do I need to provide?
Two forms of valid identification are required;
| Photo Identification | Passport or driving licence |
| Address identification | Must be current, dated within the last month: Utility bill, bank statement, payslip, benefit statement |
| Eligibility | Proof of Nationality required if not a British resident. Home Office papers If working last 3 payslips, or proof of benefits |
Rent levels vary according to property size and type;
| Studio | £110.12 per week |
| Studio with Shared Bathroom | £89.67 per week |
| One/two bedroom | £124.86 per week |
All residents are required to pay a contribution of £4.57 per week even if your Housing Benefit entitlement pays for your accommodation.
A deposit of £120 is required plus rent in advance. The deposit is refundable and is subject to condition of the flat at the end of the tenancy.
What bills do I pay - You are responsible for paying your Electric, Water and Council Tax.
How long will it take to get a flat?
This can take up to 28 days from receipt of completed application form to confirm availability, although in certain circumstances this may take a little longer.
